B'Maakonigan logo
In August 2022, the signatory First Nations collaboratively created and approved the B’Maakonigan seal/logo to signify the Management and Operations of B’Maakonigan.
The seal/logo incorporates something borrowed and something new that represent the values and beliefs of the Ngo Dwe Waangizid Anishinaabe (One Anishinaabe Family), which is also the preamble to the Anishinabek Nation Chi-Naaknigewin and the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement Act. The seal/logo also embodies the Ajijaak (Crane) Doodemaag (Clan) that is responsible for external governance to negotiate with people from other communities (Nation-to-Nation). The Ajijaak Doodem gift is Mnaademdamowin (Respect).
The five images surrounding the Ajijaak image are incorporated from the Ngo Dwe Waangizid Anishinaabe pictograph. The dots represent balance and harmony amongst the signatory First Nations.
The logo is purple, a colour which pays tribute to the 1764 Niagara Treaty Gchi-Miigisaabiigan (Great Wampum Belt).
