The Anishinabek Nation negotiation team is meeting with Chiefs and Councils to provide updates and seek Band Council Resolutions (BCR). A BCR indicates the signing First Nation will hold a ratification vote for eligible voters in their community to decide whether they approve the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement (ANGA) and the related Anishinabek Nation Fiscal Agreement.
It also authorizes the Chief Negotiator for the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement to initial off on the final version of the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement.
To date, 23 First Nations have signed BCRs.
